Lifestyle Agreement and Statement of Faith

The NCA board of directors views each employee, not only as a professional but also as a vehicle by which the mission and vision at NCA is put into action and unfolds to its students, families as well as to the surrounding community.  Therefore, all employees will be required to sign and comply with NCA's lifestyle agreement and statement of faith throughout the term of employment.

Substitute Teacher for Immediate Placement

 

Minimum qualifications include the spiritual and personal qualifications for a teacher, a bachelor's degree or the equivalent, or at least 60 hours of college work.  Background checks within a period of 1 year must be on record.

JOB GOALS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In general, substitute teachers are expected to perform all of the duties of the teacher they are replacing, including any scheduled extra duties, unless specifically excused or directed otherwise by the principal.

Substitute teachers will generally be employed on a daily basis, at the prescribed daily rate according to school policy.  Paychecks will be issued, following completion of the required substitute teacher form, at the next payday according to established school policy.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly employment according to established school policies.  This is an “at-will” position, and employment for a time does not guarantee continued employment.

 

Part-time School Nurse

New Covenant Academy is seeking a qualified candidate to work in the role of a part-time school nurse beginning January 3, 2020.  The hours are 4 days per month. 

Job Duties 

The school nurse will assist building administrators in providing each student the fullest opportunity to receive a quality education by minimizing absences due to illness, providing nursing care during the school day, and creating a climate of health and well-being in school.

Qualifications

The school nurse will hold current licensure in the State of Missouri as a registered nurse or a licensed practical nurse. The school nurse shall have a sincere desire to work with others in a caring and diplomatic manner and exhibit excellent communication skills. Additionally, the school nurse will have good organizational skills and the ability to process and maintain paperwork. Physical requirements for the position include the ability to stay on his/her feet for an extended period of time during the school day and the ability to lift 50 pounds or more.

Supervisor

The nurse will report directly to the assigned administrator.

Duties

Manage the school health office, including the maintenance of school health records.

Provide a system for the prevention and control of communicable diseases.

Manage a safe medication administration program.

Assess, plan, and implement age-appropriate screening programs and provide follow-up of referrals for identified health needs.

Provide support and resources for the health instruction program.

Assist in monitoring the school's health environment to ensure health and safety.

Act as liaison between home, school, and community health care providers.

Participate as the health professional in staffing meetings, evaluation of students with special health care needs, and the student assistance teams.

Collaborate with community resources to meet the needs of children.

Perform other duties as directed by the assigned principal.

 

Custodian-Split Shift

SHIFT-  Current hours include a full-time split shift between two campus locations: 10 am and 2 pm at Liberty Campus and 4 pm and 8 pm on Warrior Campus,  Monday through Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Custodian shall…

  • have a minimum of high school diploma or the equivalent preferred
  • be literate in English reading and writing skills
  • be able to physically perform all duties including the lifting of approximately up to 75   lbs., full range of body motions (prolonged walking or standing and frequent bending, stooping and reaching on a daily basis). 
  • be able to operate electrical-powered cleaning equipment and machines
  • have a minimum of one year custodial/maintenance experience preferred, which includes knowledge of cleaning, appropriate use of cleaning chemicals and light maintenance procedures
  • be able to work independently
  • be able to perform the required tasks
  • be calm and collected and reflect Christian principles, even in stressful situations
  • be able to support the Christian mission at New Covenant Academy and lead a lifestyle compatible with NCA standards and policies.
  • exhibit such other qualifications as may additionally be required by the Board.
  • pass a federal background check and drug testing
  • have a valid Missouri driver’s license

           

REPORTS TO: Facility Building Maintenance Supervisor

JOB GOALS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

           

Under the supervision of the Facility Building Maintenance Supervisor duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • maintain designated  areas of the building in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition
  • do general cleaning and trash removal according to a regular schedule
  • maintain the security of the building
  • perform other duties as prescribed by the Director of Operations and Support Services

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly at-will employee.

Principal Credential Requirements

All principal's employed on NCA's campus must possess a master's degree and hold (or qualify for) Missouri certification as a principal, or the equivalent. Previous administration experience preferred; background in Christian philosophy of education preferred.


Faculty Credential Requirements  

 

For core subjects, all faculty members must hold a certification to teach in the State of Missouri or in another state within the U.S., (or meet the requirements for a provisional certification).  Additionally, they must have a four-year undergraduate degree.

 

Faculty Benefits 

 

The following benefits are offered to full-time faculty at New Covenant Academy:  50% discount in tuition for your own child to attend NCA (pending they meet admissions requirements); all fees must be paid by the employee.  Medical benefits are offered the employee with a majority of the premium paid for by New Covenant Academy.  Employees may add dependents at their own expense.  Optional cafeteria plans are offered at the employee expense.  A reduction in school lunch price is offered to the employee for their own meal service.  Free admission to all home sports games.  Part-time faculty: may receive a pro-rated discount in tuition for their own child to attend NCA.

 

Staff Benefits

 

The following benefits are offered to full-time staff (non-teaching) at New Covenant Academy:  50% discount in tuition for your own child to attend NCA (pending they meet admissions requirements); all fees must be paid by the employee.  Medical benefits are offered the employee with a majority of the premium paid for by New Covenant Academy.  Employees may add dependents at their own expense.  Optional cafeteria plans are offered at the employee expense.  A reduction in school lunch price is offered to the employee for their own meal service.  Free admission to all home sports games.  

 

Substitute Requirements

 

Substitutes must have a minimum of 60 college credit hours in order to qualify for substitute teaching at NCA.
