Mr. David White

Mr. David White, Elementary Counselor

Mr. White has an M.S. degree in school counseling grades K-8; holds a B.S. degree in Education 1-8; and also has 73 credit hours in Bible and Music from a local Christian college.  Furthermore, he also holds a lifetime multiple endorsement certificate in School Psychological Counseling, Counselor and Elementary Education in the State of Missouri.  Mr. White has 34 plus years in education (eight years teaching and the rest implementing the Missouri Comprehensive Guidance Program for grades K-5 for the Springfield Public School System).  In that role, he has been the Character Education Coordinator, Teacher Support Team facilitator, Extended Learning Liaison, Tutor and much more.  Mr. White joined NCA in the 2015-2016 school year.

Mr. White grew up the son of a preacher, with lifelong commitment to God.  His philosophy of education includes the core precepts that all children are created by God for their own unique purpose.  His goal is to inspire learning utilizing a variety of methods to match learning styles.

 

Role of the Elementary Guidance Counselor  

 

Incorporating Biblical truths, prayer and Godly wisdom; the Guidance Counselor will:

  • Help students successfully deal with their problems and understand their feelings.
  • Help students get along with others better.
  • Help students learn to make good choices.
  • Help students improve their study skills.
  • Help support parents and teachers as they partner in the education of the whole child
