Intermediate Program

5th/6th Grade:

Times: 8:00 – 3:15
Class Size: Recommended maximum of 24 students

Philosophy:

The Intermediate School student at New Covenant Academy learns in an innovative program that combines a number of rich interdisciplinary curriculum and transitional elements into a unique method for successful transition in to Middle School. Learning isn’t limited to the classroom. Students participate in numerous field trips and hands-on activities that promote real world learning experiences beyond their desk and chair. Award winning literature is used to help the children gain an appreciation for writing styles and aids them in writing their own stories. Students gain knowledge and an understanding of how all things fit together in God’s plan as revealed in His word. Along with educational activities, the students participate in a variety of community outreaches including nursing homes, “feed the hungry” programs, and most recently they worked with "Bag Ladies", which is a group committed to providing children in Springfield who are displaced, with needed items placed in backpacks to help improve their quality of life.
