NCA is Currently Hiring for the Following Positions for the Current School Year (updated 3-29-2018)

Custodian Position

Custodian-Current School Year.  

 

NCA is seeking a custodian.  The current position is part-time with the following schedule: 4 hours per night, 5 days a week.  Hours must be consecutive between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and midnight (flexible based on candidates schedule and school approval).  Friday night duties may be done over the weekend, (to be worked out with supervisor).  This position can remain part-time, or has the potential to become full-time when the school expands to a second campus in the 2018-2019 school year.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Custodian shall…

  • have a minimum of high school diploma or the equivalent preferred
  • be literate in English reading and writing skills
  • be able to physically perform all duties including the lifting of approximately up to 75 lbs., full range of body motions (prolonged walking or standing and frequent bending, stooping and reaching on a daily basis).
  • be able to operate electrical-powered cleaning equipment and machines
  • have minimum of one year custodial/maintenance experience preferred, which includes knowledge of cleaning, appropriate use of cleaning chemicals and light maintenance procedures
  • be able to work independently
  • be able to perform required tasks
  • be calm and collected and reflect Christian principles, even in stressful situations
  • be able support the Christian mission at New Covenant Academy and lead a lifestyle compatible with NCA standards and policies.
  • exhibit such other qualifications as may additionally be required by the Board.
  • pass a federal background check and drug testing
  • have a valid Missouri driver’s license

REPORTS TO: Facility Building Maintenance Supervisor

JOB GOALS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the supervision of the Facility Building Maintenance Supervisor duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • maintain designated areas of the building in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition
  • do general cleaning and trash removal according to a regular schedule
  • maintain the security of the building
  • perform other duties as prescribed by the Facility Building Maintenance Supervisor or Chief Financial Officer.

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION:  Salary base  is a pro-ration of the full-time base salary which is $32,160.  A pro-ration of the 50% tuition offered to full-time teachers is  offered to part-time teachers for your own qualified student to attend New Covenant Academy, reduced cost on lunch served in the cafeteria to the employee, free admittance to NCA sport activities on campus.

 

Boys Head Basketball Coach

 
New Covenant Academy is seeking a qualified seasonal candidate for high school boys’ basketball coach for the following dates Oct 30th – March 10th.
Candidates must be able to fulfill the NCA faith-based Mission, must fulfill applicable qualifications for a teacher, shall by first preference be teachers, and in addition shall:
  1. have experience, expertise, or interest in the particular activity
  2. have the ability to organize the activity
  3. be recommended by the Athletic Director
  4. exhibit such other qualifications as may additionally be required by the Board.
Must meet Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) requirements for a head coach as follows:
Athletic Coaching Levels and Minimum Requirements: a. Head Coach – Minimum Requirements: As per By-Law 3.1.1, each interscholastic team must have a head coach who meets the following requirements and who, then, may fill the duties and obligations of a head coach for the team, both under the sport rule code and in regard to the by-laws. 1. A Four-Year College Degree OR Serving as an Approved Assistant Coach (3.1.4.b) (non-Hardship Coach) for a minimum of TWO school years. 2. A Professional Teacher’s Certificate OR NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Course (online) passed prior to coaching. This course is not sport-specific. This is a one-time requirement. 3. Successful completion of a Sports First Aid course prior to coaching and renewed every two years. (See options in Diagram 3.1) 4. Successful completion of CPR/AED training prior to coaching and renewed every two years. (See options in Diagram 3.1) 5. Background Check including Sex-Offender’s Registry Clearance prior to coaching. 6. Board of Education or Board of Governance Approval prior to coaching. 7. Successful completion of a Concussion in Sports Course, and review of current concussion information yearly. 8. Successful completion of the MSHSAA Sport-Specific Online Rules Review each season. Part-time Extended Care Site Director

Extended Care Site Director Part-time (Both Cox Ave. and Kansas Ave. Campuses)

JOB DESCRIPTION:  New Covenant Academy is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Extended Care Site Director for the Before & After School Program for children in grades Jr.K-8.  Duties include the following: Under the supervision of the Elementary Principal, the Site Director schedules extended care workers at both campus locations; Supervises extended care workers; Responsible for effective parent communications and plans and/or coordinates activities and must be available to open and close the program every school day.     Furthermore the director must provide a safe atmosphere for all children; Provide activities during the extended hours as scheduled; Keep accurate records of those attending Extended Care; Maintain controls on the arrival and departure of children attending Extended Care, according to school policy; Report time charges for Extended Care as requested by the Business Office; and Maintain accurate time sheets for pay. Food Service Workers for 2018-2019 on both Cox Ave and Kansas Ave. Campuses

JOB DESCRIPTION: New Covenant Academy is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Food Service Workers.  Duties include the following: Food preparation, serving, cooking, washing dishes, computer scanning (training provided), clean-up/trash, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.  Hours are TBD.  Salary is hourly and TBD. Initial training may take place in May, with formal position beginning on August 2, 2018. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Our kitchen crew members come from a variety of backgrounds.  Although experience in the food service industry is a huge plus, we will consider candidates with similar experience.  Possessing the factors below may enable you to jumpstart your success in this position:

  • Knowledge of basic kitchen fundamentals
  • Customer service focused and oriented
  • Infectious, positive attitude that inspires others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with employees and students
  • Ability to work set schedule, with flexibility to work some unscheduled days as needed, up to 25 hours per week
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to stand and walk for periods of four to five hours in length, each shift
  • Must be able to reach, bend, balance and transport various objects weighing up to 25- 30 lbs repeatedly during a shift.  Rarely, it may be necessary to lift up to 50 lbs.

Principal Credential Requirements

All principal's employed on NCA's campus must possess a master's degree and hold (or qualify for) Missouri certification as a principal, or the equivalent. Previous administration experience preferred; background in Christian philosophy of education preferred.


Faculty Credential Requirements  

 

For core subjects, all faculty members must hold a certification to teach in the State of Missouri or in another state within the U.S., (or meet the requirements for a provisional certification).  Additionally, they must have a four-year undergraduate degree.

Substitute Requirements

 

Substitutes must have a minimum of 60 college credit hours in order to qualify for substitute teaching at NCA.
